James, a lifelong food nut, began working as a chef in his native UK. After training in classic French cuisine, he moved to Canada’s West Coast in 2012 and immediately transitioned to vegetarian and vegan cooking, his true calling. James oversees product and menu development for The Very Good Food Co and its brands.

Mitchell enjoys high growth environments and building world class companies that leave a positive impact on the planet. As CEO and co-founder of The Very Good Food Company, Mitchell oversees the overall direction and growth of the company and its brands, including The Very Good Butchers and The Very Good Cheese Co.

Ana was born and raised in Portugal, a culture where bringing people together over good food is foundational. As a people-focused leader, Ana is excited to unlock the potential at VGF. Accelerating team and growth is her passion. She spent the past five years with Daiya Foods as CFO, when Daiya was ranked as the fastest growing plant-based company in America and successfully sold for $405M.
Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary
Kamini Hitkari joined VERY GOOD as CFO on September 22, 2020. Kamini has held progressive roles in corporate finance since her PWC days, serving in top executive positions contributing to strategic M&A transactions of up to C$2.6BN, scaling businesses and launching product lines for companies like Aurora Cannabis and HSBC Bank Canada.
Independent Director and Chair of the Audit Committee
Dela is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CGA) with over ten years of experience with public and private companies focusing on M&A transactions, financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and corporate finance activities. Her experience mostly involves publicly-listed Canadian and US companies in the mining sector.
Bill brings a wealth of experience in marketing and ecommerce strategies. He has served as CEO and Board Member at a venture-backed food startup. In his leadership roles at Amazon and Whole Foods Market, he also launched key initiatives responsible for hundreds of millions of dollars in sales.
Independant Director and Chair of The Compensation Committee
Sarah is a strategic business development leader with over 20 years’ experience of driving bottom line growth and building new markets within top tier companies such as Mondalez, American Express and Invictus. She is passionate about marrying profit with purpose and driving innovation in new markets. She holds her BComm from UBC and Executive MBA from Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario.
